2001-07-12 - 4:05 a.m. Doodlbug came over today. We wrote a tune together. He showed me an old bass riff of his and I wrote words and put a chorus on it. And it goes a little something like this… Here he comes Mr. Third Coast Shades Waxing nostalgic As the traffic light fades He's got it made Mommy and Daddy Made sure of that As he falls, splat Onto the dance floor But no one wants To dance with him no more Gettin' old's a chore I'm told Yawn while the drama Unfolds *** Buffalo Bill was once a snake charmer Kicked in the nuts By a Fujiyama mama Beat of the tom tom pushes him Towards the bar Falling like a leaf and staring At her cleavage A Beaver Cleaver moment Without redemption Attempting his only Pick up line *** You don't have to laugh But it's funny You don't have to smile 'cause it's sad I'm not the only one Caught in a bubble Trouble fumbling Tumbling Crumbling Churning mad *** Out on the street It seems so silly A Henry Rollins meets Milli Vanilli Truman Capote Pinches me on the ass Step on the gas In Cassidy fassion Where's the passion Clashin' the brass Like a slash from the past The horizon always divin' On the other side *** And I could give a damn Could you lend me a damn? Hey buddy, got a spare damn? *** Somebody stop me 'cause I'm panting Pseudo-intellectually ranting Can this action Before I act the fool You think it's cool, do ya? That's just what they want Another opiated mood So they can cruise Without you Caring * (c)B.Y.G.U.M. 2001 Ok, it's not Elliot but it fits the riff. I like the Buffalo Bill part. I guess that's a nod to Cummings. Anyway, we'll put it in with the set. Later today, we'll be rehearsing for the August shows. Every Tuesday in August, 11 pm, Wammo and the Muff Fluffers at Room 710, 710 Red River, Austin, Tx. It'll be fun to do a weekly local gig again. Stop on by.
