Haven't updated in a while. Been real fucking busy. Most of my time has been spent making the new Spanker record. It's been tough, Christina has been out with the dreaded hickabloopis or at least an ear infection. So we are basically playing the waiting game till she gets better. Of course I just sneezed when I wrote that. Then she can come in, sing her parts and we can get this sucker finished. So far Mountain Town, Stinkin', Wingless Angels, Monkey Rag, Breathin', Minor Waltz and Wammo's Blues are in the can. But there's still tons to do. I love being in the studio. I need one of my own.
So what else? I've been watching footage of the tour. That reminds me, I gotta call the editing guy, hang on. He was sick too. Jeez. He's better now. Anyway there's a lot of great stuff I captured on this last tour. I can't wait to start editing. Every day I thank the powers that be that I don't have a real job. I can do wacky shit like make records and little movies. It's a crazy, fucked up world and you gotta do somethin' besides sit around in a straight jacket all day. Of course that works for some folks. Me? I got other shit to do. I wanna have lunch with Ice T, bend Joel Silver's ear, split a bottle of wine with Tom Waits, have Anthony Hopkins call me for advice on a role, take Madonna's family out for a ride in my Imperial. I wanna be able to say excuse me Mr. Nader but there's something hanging off the end of your nose. Kick back with a beer in my hand and say "You know Brad, I'd stick with roles like Floyd and Tyler 'cause that Joe Black shit just didn't fly." "So Julia, now that you have an Oscar, what's next, porn?" "Hey Ozzy, stay the hell out of my beer!" You know, shit like that. The only way to accomplish those things is to make great art or at least popular art. So that's what I'm working on.
