I remember once I was going to the Four Seasons Hotel here in town, to have a drink with a friend. Outside the hotel was a geeky looking guy, about 35, holding a Billy Joel record. I remembered that Billy Joel was playing in town that night and this guy was waiting outside the hotel to snag an autograph. I wanted to say, "Billy Joel? Have some fucking taste." But it occurred to me that musical diversity is what makes the world great and as Pete Townsend said in Quadraphenia, "Each to his own sewage."
During SXSW Courtney Love had some big wig thrown out of the Presidential Suite at the Four Seasons so that she could occupy it. I love shit like that. If I was in a position of power like that, there's no telling what I would ask for. What do rock stars ask for? Click here to check it out
